Commitment to Safety

It is the policy of McGervey Electric, Inc., to protect the health and safety of our employees.  To that end, our company has established a Workplace Health & Safety Program that will help us prevent illness and injury due to hazards in the workplace.

 

At the core of a progressive Workplace Health & Safety Program is a joint worker/management Safety Committee. The purpose of the Safety Committee is to bring workers and management together in a non-adversarial, cooperative effort to promote health and safety in the workplace.

Our Safety Committee consists of three employee and three management representatives who have expressed an interest in the general promotion of health and safety at McGervey Electric, Inc.
 
Our Safety Committee meets monthly and is responsible for making recommendations on how to improve health and safety in the workplace.
 
More specifically, the Committee is charged with the responsibility to define problems and remove obstacles to accident prevention; to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions; to help identify employee safety training needs; and establish incident investigation procedures for our company.

Safety Training 

McGervey Electric, Inc. is committed to offering job-related training opportunities to employees.  Qualified job-related training programs are designed to improve the overall performance of the company as well as assist employees in improving their knowledge, skill, and competency.

 

Previous training opportunities include periodic Toolbox Talks, OSHA-10 Certification, Ladder & Fall Arrest Certification, Scissor & JLG Lift Certification, Insulating Aerial Device Certification, and Arc Flash Certification.   

Safety Standard

Safety is a joint venture at McGervey Electric, Inc.  We strive to provide a clean, hazard-free, healthy, safe environment in which to work.  We make every effort to comply with all relevant federal, state, and local occupational health and safety laws, including the federal Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA).

 

In an effort to reduce/eliminate workplace accidents and injuries, the Safety Committee has identified general work rules, safety policies and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) standards for our employees to follow. These general work rules & safety policies will identify specific standards, techniques, and guidelines when conducting daily tasks and functions.
